Everybody wants to walk on water but they don’t want to leave the shore,

He put the music on the floor, took a drink, and then he told me of his history.


Hiroshima, Dresden, D-day, and now he brought his war right back to me.

“Hey Mr. I don’t want to ask but is there something on your mind?”


“Listen here son I don’t think you heard me, I don’t really have much time.”

“Everything you need to know in life can be found on this record you see,


No beginning, no end, it only knows the revolution of its natural beat.”

Just then, he turned around and left with nothing much else to say.


“Hey mister don’t forget your records!”  but he kept on walking away.

Spent his last days in a motel, never heard a knock on the door.


Put a letter in the outbox, made peace, and then he hit the floor.

“Mister postman take this letter it’s for a good friend of mine.


This ink stained on this paper is the last thing I leave behind.

“I got me the one way ticket to the place that I was born.
